Coastal Speech Therapy offers in-clinic, mobile and online (telehealth) speech therapy services to preschool kids, school children, adults, and seniors. We seek to support our clients to develop core skills to help them better thrive in their relationships and interactions with others. Coastal Speech Therapy strives to offer developmentally appropriate therapy that will positively impact the lives of the individuals we serve. We take seriously every family's uniqueness while we strive to enhance the confidence to communicate in our clients' lives.

Our practice welcomes all clients from the Illawarra region. We are very focused on servicing our local area in Port Kembla, Wollongong and surrounding suburbs.

Nicole Eastman - Speech Pathologist and Director at Coastal Speech Therapy

Nicole Eastman

MSPA CPSP, MSP, BSpHLSc

Founder and Senior Speech Pathologist

Nicole is the founder and lead Speech Pathologist at Coastal Speech Therapy. She is passionate about providing evidence-based, family-centred speech pathology services for children and adults across Port Kembla, Wollongong, Shellharbour, and the wider Illawarra region.

Nicole has a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Speech, Hearing and Language Sciences from Macquarie University. She is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia and is bilingual, speaking both English and Armenian.

Nicole values a collaborative approach to therapy and works closely with clients, families, schools, and support networks to make therapy meaningful, practical, and tailored to each person's goals.

Nicole has experience working with clients across a wide range of ages, from young children through to older adults, and has supported individuals with diverse communication needs. Her experience includes speech sounds and articulation, receptive and expressive language, communication, literacy, multimodal communication including AAC, fluency and stuttering, aphasia, alexia, cerebral ataxia, cleft palate, Down syndrome, intellectual impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and cerebral palsy.

Nicole has completed training in the Hanen Program, More Than Words – Hanen Program, DIRFloortime® (Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based) Program, The Sounds Write literacy program, and the Comprehensive Stuttering Program (inclusive of Lidcombe and Camperdown Program) through The Australian Stuttering Research Centre. She has a particular interest in fluency, speech sounds, literacy, and social communication, and enjoys supporting clients of all ages to build confidence in their communication.

Ella Clarke - Allied Health Assistant at Coastal Speech Therapy

Ella Clarke

Allied Health Assistant

Ella is an Allied Health Assistant at Coastal Speech Therapy and is currently in her third year of a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Western Sydney University. She supports therapy programs under the guidance of the speech pathology team and enjoys working with children of different ages and communication needs.

Background

Ella has experience supporting children through her work in OOSH (outside of school hours care), where she has developed strong skills in creating positive, supportive, and engaging environments.

Approach

She has an interest in speech, language, and literacy development and brings a warm, friendly, and encouraging approach to her work with clients and families across the Illawarra.

Brendan Eastman - Accounts & Administration Manager at Coastal Speech Therapy

Brendan Eastman

Accounts & Administration Manager

Brendan supports the day-to-day operations of Coastal Speech Therapy, helping ensure the business runs smoothly and that clients have a positive experience from first contact through to ongoing support.

Background

With a background in accounting and finance, Brendan brings experience across management accounting, tax accounting, and business administration. Born and raised in the Illawarra, he is passionate about supporting local families and helping people access high-quality services in their community.

Outside Work

Brendan enjoys charity and volunteering, as well as staying active through tennis, Oztag, swimming, surfing, and running.
